O Lord beyond the entity of time,
You are forever the constant one.
New year is for me,
But must it no longer be.

Dear Guru,
This disciple is imbecile, a dumbwit.
I do not even know how to fall at your feet,
O Great Being, great, great Master.
How to die, how to lose my own self?

There is no one else to embrace me
I do not have anyone else by my side,
The world dislikes me - but that would not matter,
If once, just once you clasp me to bosom.
Please, please my Master, look upon your disciple
Bless me with the water of eternal life
O tenderhearted Father.

O Master of infinite worlds
Your greatness has entranced me.
I am totally and completely mesmerised
contemplating your great, glorious self.

Waheguru, Waheguru, Waheguru.

Keep me on a leash, O Master
For I am the greedy dog of tales.
Please hold me close to yourself,
Pat me, caress the poor soul, O Lover of all.
Pray keep me in your Divine Direction
That I may sway to your will.

The tale of the blind man continues:
The diamond he touched was but sand
The fine words a mere noose
The warm sun so cold.

He has learnt one thing with the Guru's grace:
Eyes truly begin to open once you go blind.

Meditation is beyond my understanding
My mind is never under control
And I cannot obey your will-
The shameless creature that I am.
How dare I call myself Yours?

But please don't disown me, Lord
Please don't be angry
Please don't lead me away from you-
In that case, I will die.

I am so low yet my wants are so high!
My karma are not worthy enough to obtain your presence
But please forgive me, my softhearted Master
Come to my heart, and reveal your feet.

You are the architect, the engineer
the doctor, the lawyer
the manager, the chief executive officer-
the only one I know of.
You are the only worker!
Please make me work only for you, O Lord!
